What does the Golden Calf got to do with the Naked Cowboy

Double Edge Music Podcast Host: Troy Isaacs

All good cowboys remember their cattle, right? Well, not the Naked Cowboy. Not when it comes to the Golden Calf of Exodus 22. At a recent Hillsong United Women’s Conference, Colour Conference 2016, The Naked Cowboy made an appearance, stood center stage, gyrating and blowing kisses to the hoops and hollers of the onlooking crowd, and thought he shocked the public who later saw the leaked Instagram footage. But what does this have to do with the Golden Calf? Listen in to this episode for an analysis of Hillsong’s Women’s Conference in light of a similar event in Scripture, when the people of God turned an event that ought to have been solemn, into on of sacrilege, and where the Lord responded with dreadful severity.
