DoubleEdge is twin brothers Sean and Troy Isaacs, who have a passion for Christ and a desire to glorify His name through their music. They have a burden for Reformation and Revival in this generation. John Piper’s words, “God is most Glorified in us, when we are most satisfied in him” is the inspiration behind many of their songs.
Troy and Sean were raised in a Christian home by their mother, Elvinet. But it wasn’t until the death of their oldest brother Garfield, in September 1990, when they became aware of their need to be born again and submit to Christ. Troy was saved first and made a commitment to use his life to reach the lost without compromise and prayed earnestly for Sean to do the same. Once Sean gave his life over to Christ, he laid down his pursuit of a secular music recording contract, acting, and modeling in NYC, to obey God. Sean is now happily married to Deborah Isaacs, and with three children, Abigail, Joanna and Aaron.
In October of 2000, due to a failing business, Troy and Sean decided it was time to utilize the gifts that God had given them to spread the word of God through music.
The name DoubleEdge came from Hebrews 4:12, where the word of God is described as a two-edged sword. DoubleEdge is also reflective that they are twins who preach and sing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Sean & Troy began writing their first single “Glorify Your Name” in November 2000, and have found that they “Can’t Stop”, which is another one of their title track in the “Glorify Your Name” CD.
The two scriptures that underlies the foundation for their music ministry are Colossians 3:16 “…teach and admonish, one another through psalms, hymns and spiritual songs”, and 1 Corinthians 9:20-23 “…I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.”
It is their prayer that their music be used by God to further build His kingdom, convert sinners to Himself, and provoke and encourage Christians everywhere to live everyday for the Glory of God.
The following men of God said it best:
Robert Murray McCheyne - “Lord stamp eternity on my eyelids.”
Charles H. Spurgeon – “If sinners be dammed, at least let them leap to Hell over our bodies. If they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one GO there UNWARNED and UNPRAYED for…”
Keith Green – “This generation of Christians IS responsible for this generation of Sinners!”
